Bluebird Publishing is a new joint effort between two long-time St. Louis “book” people: publisher Jeff Fister and distributor Dan Thompson. What is missing in self-publishing, they both realized, is experienced book producers and sellers working on your book. With that realization, Bluebird Publishing was born.
Jeff Fister is President of Virginia Publishing Co. For nearly 20 years, his company has been publishing local best-selling books about St. Louis history and interest. From So Where’d You Go to High School? to Devil at the Confluence, Virginia specializes in producing high quality books for the local/regional market. Fister has also worked in journalism and corporate public relations. His company also publishes special interest publications.

Dan P. Thompson is a seasoned executive with more than thirty years of sales, marketing and distribution experience in the music, film, and book businesses. Led by the desire to strengthen the cultural climate of the St. Louis region, Dan founded Big River Distribution to support and sell regional books throughout the Midwest and nationally. He is excited to put his marketing skills and sales knowledge to work for Bluebird.
